New Bookshelf!

We have finally unpacked the last of the boxes in our apartment! There were a few left full of books, and when we couldn't find the right bookshelf to fit our space...we made one! Actually, I can't say "we" on this at all. Caleb did an amazing job!

I was supposed to take pictures with it empty...but I got too excited and started filling it with books before I remembered.

Halloween!

What are we going to be for Halloween?! We asked that about one hundred times, never really figuring anything out until the last minute. So we used what we had... an awesome Ski onesie from Newbees in Buena Vista and Caleb's red union suit. He was an old prospector, I was a ski-bum. But together we were "Onsie in Christ".

To all our friends who have kids, your halloween blog pictures were way cuter. But until we have kids of our own...our pictures will continue to be rediculous. Hope you all had a great holiday!

Southern Hospitatlity

It was off to Clemson, South Carolina for the wedding of Mark Loyd (Caleb's Cousin) and Brittany Robinson (our god friend and fellow intern from Crooked Creek!). The weekend started off with a bang..or maybe I should say a crash. An unexpected ice storm came in over night leaving the interstates more like skating rinks. After seeing several spin-outs and accidents we were driving very carefully. But careful doesn't matter when you hit a patch of ice. We swerved one way, we swerved the other and ran right into the guard rail, then spun around and hit it again! A jarring way to start off our trip. The car was still drivable (the major damage was just to the front and rear bumpers). So we continued on to the airport. Thankfully we made it on our flight (due to the weather, there were a lot of people who missed their flight. Sad for them, but us non-revs rejoice!). They now have live TV on the newer Delta aircrafts. Which is really exciting for us since we don't have cable at home. I had to soak it in! As I was browsing I kept nudging Caleb to look at what was on. He was trying to sleep...

"Caleb, look! Paula Dean is making brownies"

death stare, nod, close eyes

"Caleb...animal planet! Look at the cheetah!"

longer death stare, close eyes

"Caleb...caleb"

Ok, at this point he wanted to strangle me with the airplane blanket...

"College Game Day! They have ESPN"

Well look who perked right up! Grabbed his head phones and got to watching.

Our travel arrangements were with the legendary Pete Buhls of Jasper, GA (one of our intern friends). So good to see him and witness the Notorious BIG sing-a-long that started about halfway through the two hour drive to Clemson.

The Rehearsal Dinner was at The Pompous Pig in Anderson and I'm pretty sure we all ate way too much BBQ. It was delicious!

It's a little blurry, but that's a Yuengling, America's oldest brewery. Only distributed in the East, well worth the trip

Robot Arm! Brita, it's because we're jealous.

Crooked Creek Interns!

We had to throw in a shakey face pic.

Here's the big day! Ceremony and reception at The Madran Center in Clemson, SC.

A little Horse-Balls before the wedding

Fall Camping

Wanting to take advantage of the beautiful leaves turning up in the mountains we scheduled a camping double-date with Scott and Kelsey (Caleb's sister and brother-in-law). They found a great spot just outside of keystone, right on a river amid a sea of fall colors! It was a great time until we had to put the fire out and head to our tents...which were covered in frost! Needless to say it was a pretty cold night. But a great weekend get away none-the-less. Enjoy the pictures! and we'll probably wait 'til next summer to drag out that camping gear again :)

Yup...That cold!

Toothpaste, Tylenol, and on our way to build a fire!

Beautiful camping spot. Nice find LoMurrays!

We love our new tent, "The Kingdom"(I call it The Kingdome :)
Thanks Todd and Suzanne!

When it Rains...It Hurricanes

As we left Seattle, we were so excited for our relaxing honeymoon on the beach in Los Cabos, Mexico. We never imagined what we were in for. (actually, those who know Caleb, wouldn't be surprised at all by this story. And now that he and I are one...I get to share in the adventure) After the wedding we were so ready to kick back, relax and enjoy and well deserved vacation. We arrived in Los Cabos Sunday evening and were in awe of our resort. Had our own private plunge pool, pool chairs, right on the beach...we were so ready to check everything out the next morning. We woke up to a somewhat overcast day, but that wasn't going to stop us. We got ready to head down to the pool, when we found a note from the resort slid under our door. It said something along the lines of, "Due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Jimena, we are advising our guests to leave Los Cabos this evening as the SJD airport will be closing Tuesday morning indefinitely."

Hmm.....not quite how we planned it. We head to the lobby to talk with someone who might know what's going on. And this is what he showed us.

Hurrican Jimena. At the time she was a borderline category 5 hurricane. The biggest hurricane ever to head towards the area and the first hurricane to hit in the last 4 years.

Next step, figure out how we can get out...or hunker down, make a huge Mega run (like a big Wal-Mart) and hope for the best. After being on the phone with our airlines (which wasn't helpful) and checking online, we finally made the decision to pack up and head for the airport, hoping that somehow we could get out. The rain had started by the time we were heading to the airport with a forecast to only get worse as the hurricane came closer. Thankfully we were able to change our ticket to a standby. American Airlines created a brand new flight just to come rescue all of us stranded tourists. Thank goodness we got on! Later we heard the "eye" of the hurricane missed Los Cabos, but this left Los Cabos on the east side of the storm, which tends to be the most violent. Most of the resort guests were moved into storm shelters towards the mountains...needless to say, I think we made the right decision.

While still in Los Cabos we contacted some gracious friends who had offered us travel points for our honeymoon. We already had Cabo set up, but they added "well if anything happens, give us a call"... Jimena happened, so we called. We were able to finish our honeymoon in Vail, CO. Which was amazing! So relaxing, so beautiful!

We are SO thankful to the friends who offered us both vacations, we're glad we got to fully enjoy at least one. It reminds us how blessed we are by the friendships we have. Thank you to The Watanabes for Cabo and Thank you to The Cryers for Vail!

Here are a few pictures from our time in Vail. 13 hours in Cabo didn't leave us much time to document much...actually, anything :( We'll make it back someday. In the meantime, here are the memories we have

We took a gondola ride to the top of Vail Resort to see a beautiful sunset!

Happy Tourists!

Labor Day weekend was also Gourmet on Gore weekend.
A great food festival with great bites from around the town.
Our favorite were the Stellas (my favorite beer :).
We even got to keep the glasses!

We Got Hitched!

Welcome to our Blog! We're excited to have a place for friends and family to come check in on us from time to time (just know that the blog doesn't substitute for phone calls and letters :). Our first post....We're married! Caleb now has "and Daron" after his name and I have a new last name!

We had an amazing wedding! What a beautiful time with family and friends from all stages of our lives. We are so blessed by all those who came to join our celebration. We couldn't have imagined a more beautiful day in a more beautiful location. Here are some pictures (more are posted on Facebook with more to come I'm sure!)

The complete Walters/LoMurray clan!

The Fialas and Walters :)

LOVED the food!!! Having moments like this where we could connect was so important that day.

Beautiful Ceremony! When I walked down the aisle, Caleb was literally glowing in the sun light.

Dado and I making the walk!

We had out guests write notes of encouragement and share fun stories which were then put in jars that we will open on each anniversary for the next five years.

Rainbows after the ceremony, SO comfy and fun :)
Bouquets put together by Suzan Watanabe our dear friend and fearless wedding planner

The groomsmen and Caleb wore rainbows...setting a relaxed tone for the event

Caleb's mother, June, made my Spanish "Mantilla" style veil. Mom and I picked out the lace and it turned out beautiful!
